Stay at Home Book Tag

Stay at Home Book Tag  Laying in Bed - A book that you could/have read in a day I can't actually remember the last time I was able to finish a book in a day due to work, school, and slumps. However, I can tell you the last book that I had a hard time having to put it down was A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas. That book made my heart sing and if you want to know more about my thoughts, I wrote a spoiler-free review . Snacking - A guilty pleasure book I don't really have one specific book, but a serious guilty pleasure of mine is Christmas novels. If you've been here for a while, you know that Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday and time of year in general. There is nothing better than cuddling up with a good Christmas romance and some chocolate on a cold day. Netflix - A series that you want to start I really want to start the Crescent City series by Sarah J Maas, but at the same time I know waiting for each one to get published is going to be absolute torture....

2018 Reading Survey

Image
2018 came and went faster than I thought possible. I read a decent amount. I grew as a person and I began to prepare myself for the loss I will face in 2019 (my dog has lymphoma). While I wish I could pause time for us, I'm ready for 2019. I'm cherishing our moments and charging ahead. Enough sad, let's talk about books. As always a thank you to  Jamie  from  The Perpetual Page-Turner  for putting this together. 2018 Reading Stats Number Of Books You Read:  67 Number of Re-Reads:  4 Genre You Read The Most From:  I think I kept it mixed up this year, maybe. 1. Best Book You Read In 2018?  (If you have to cheat — you can break it down by genre if you want or 2018 release vs. backlist) I would have to say You by Caroline Kepnes. I read a lot of great books, but this one put me in a massive book hangover. I can't believe it took me so long to buy a copy and read it. Just wow. 2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You W...

The Fall Tag

The Fall Tag A huge thank you to Daniella from The Little Book Spy for tagging me and to Ell from Ellduclos for creating this tag. 1. What is one candle you MUST light every fall? My favorite fall scent is actually the Autumn Harvest soy candle from Target. 2. When you think of fall, what does it remind you of? Honestly fall makes me think of Halloween and witches. Arizona doesn't really have fall in my mind. It goes from a hot Summer to a cold-ish Winter. 3. What is your all time favorite fall/Halloween movie? Practical Magic is by far my favorite Halloween movie. I watch it year round, but something about Spooky season makes it even better. 4. What Halloween costume do you have in mind? I actually already bought my costume and wore it to the Fall Festival at the preschool. I dressed up as Neil from Koo Koo Kanga Roo . It was a hit and I'm probably wearing it to work again on Wednesday. 5. What is your favorite fall trend? Flannels. I LOVE a good flannel. 6....

2018 Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

The Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag I want to thank Aimee, Always for tagging me. You can find her post here if you're interested. This tag was originally co-created by IsThatChami and Earl Grey Books . I'm so excited to let you all know how this year has gone for me so far. Reading wise, that is. Let's get started, shall we? 1. The best book you've read this year? I'm going to go with A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas . Technically it's a novella and a lot of people have issues with it. However, it was everything I wanted. I love the fluff and the normalcy of prepping for and celebrating a holiday. I need more novellas like this one. I didn't want it to end. I'm still upset that we don't know what gift Cassian bought. 2. The best sequel you've read in 2018? The Lost World by Michael Crichton . Jurassic Park is hands down one of my favorite books and movies so nothing held a candle to The Lost World this year. Nothing. I wi...

Beauty and the Beast Book Tag

Image
As I've mentioned so, so many times before Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite Disney movie. It's the reason I love to read to begin with. So when I discovered this tag by Kristy  at Kristy and the Cat Read  I just knew I had to do it. 1. "Tale as Old as Time" - A popular theme, trope, or setting you never get tired of reading. One setting that I absolutely never get sick of is boarding school. I am such a sucker for boarding school books. I'm a sucker for hate to love relationships as well. 2. Belle - A book you bought for its beautiful cover that's just as beautiful on the inside. I bought The Promise of Stardust by Priscille Sibley strictly for its stunning cover. I didn't even read the synopsis. When I read it, it completely broke my heart in the best way. That book will always have a special place in my heart. 3. Beast - A book you didn't expect much from, but pleasantly surprised you. I didn't expect much from...

2017 Reading Survery

Image
Wow, another year has come and gone oh so quickly. I feel like just yesterday it was January and I was filled with such hope for the new year. Now it's time to do it all over again so let's look back at how my reading was for 2017. Really just March through December because I didn't finish any books in the first two months of the year, such a shame. As always a thank you to Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner for putting this together. Number Of Books You Read: 54 Number of Re-Reads: 2 Genre You Read The Most From: Contemporary probably. Maybe Poetry. 1. Best Book You Read In 2017?  (If you have to cheat — you can break it down by genre if you want or 2017 release vs. backlist) I think my best book was Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. I bought it because of the televsision show and not wanting to wait to see how it all ends. This book really surprised me and I absolutely loved it. 2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Lov...

Star Wars Book Tag

Image
Star Wars Book Tag I am so late on this tag, but I was also late in my becoming a Star Wars fan so I guess it just fits. I stumbling across this one about a week ago, a few different ones actually. I liked this one the best so I just had to do it. Let's get started! Oh man, a book that made me laugh? I think I would have to say Dirty Rush by Taylor Bell. I didn't laugh throughout the whole thing, but man did it have its moments. It's about rushing for a sorority and all that comes with it. The good, the bad, and the dirty. A kickass female character would be Charlotte from Aftermath by Clara Kensie. Some of you may be confused by that choice while others may not be. This girl did what she had to do to survive and after that she did what she could to stay strong, find her new normal, and find the girl who came before her. She did it double and she's amazing for that. TWILIGHT. We all knew it was Bella and Edward until the end and we had to sit and ...
