Beauty and the Beast Book Tag

As I've mentioned so, so many times before Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite Disney movie. It's the reason I love to read to begin with. So when I discovered this tag by Kristy at Kristy and the Cat Read I just knew I had to do it.

1. "Tale as Old as Time" - A popular theme, trope, or setting you never get tired of reading.
One setting that I absolutely never get sick of is boarding school. I am such a sucker for boarding school books. I'm a sucker for hate to love relationships as well.

2. Belle - A book you bought for its beautiful cover that's just as beautiful on the inside.
I bought The Promise of Stardust by Priscille Sibley strictly for its stunning cover. I didn't even read the synopsis. When I read it, it completely broke my heart in the best way. That book will always have a special place in my heart.

3. Beast - A book you didn't expect much from, but pleasantly surprised you.
I didn't expect much from This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. I picked it up because of the movie trailer. If you've read the book and seen the movie then you know they're both great. The book is amazing though. It's so funny and raw. This family is quite dysfunctional and yet they're still a family. I love it. I have to reread it soon.

4. Gaston - A book everyone loves, but you don't.
I'm not going to say I don't love this book because I've never actually read it. I own it and I tried to start it once or twice, but I just don't think I'm interested in ever reading or watching The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I guess you could say I didn't love Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn either. I didn't hate it, but I honestly prefer the movie on that one.

5. Lefou - A loyal sidekick you can't help but love more than their counterpart.
I was trying really hard to not mention Harry Potter in this tag. No one beats Ron Weasley though. Need I say more? I suppose I could also say Serena Vanderwoodsen in Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar. Serena and Blair are more of a pair, but Serena is loyal and always there even when Blair is being awful. I haven't read these since I was 12, but I always loved her.

6. Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, & Cogsworth - A book that helped you through a difficult time or taught you something valuable.
This is probably not the answer that anyone is looking for, but all of R.H. Sin's poetry helped me through one of the roughest times of my life. My first real, adult heartbreak. To this day I still find solace in poetry when those feelings resurface.

7. "Something There" - A book or series you weren't into at first but picked up towards the end.
I'm not so sure that I have a series like that. I usually don't continue if I don't enjoy something. Maybe Twilight? I really liked the first book, but I hated the second one and the third was kind of meh to me. However, the last book... That one is my favorite. I'm actually trying to reread the series this year. I do have a standalone for this question though. Probably a lot of standalones. I recently read The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed and while I do love that book, it got off to a slow start for me. It took me around 100 pages or so to really get into it.

8. "Be Our Guest" - A fictional character you'd love to have over for dinner.
I think, in fact I know, I would love to have dinner with Dean Di Laurentis or John Tucker from Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series. I am a sucker for those two. You just know things would get interesting really fast.

Well that was fun. I've learned that I really need to reread all of my favorite books. I tag anyone who wants to do this tag along with Erica from Erica Robyn Reads & Tina from As Told By Tina. If you do this tag feel free to leave me your link in the comments so I can check it out! Happy Reading!
Xoxo,
Gabriella
